Romantic (Transition) Period – Early 1960’s

A self-proclaimed Romantic Period.  Although the landscape remains, it now has become but a surreal backdrop.  His family, as subject matter, slowly gives way, for a time, to dreamy human-like creatures in a fantasy setting.  “Space becoming more shallow…earth colours discarded from palette.”. Colours now were vibrant, fresh and clean.  Harmony of colour and a freedom of subject matter mark this period.  These works have become more impressionistic, are very emotional, and, when the viewer is given time, will create a very cerebral dialogue, which has made these wonderful, life companions for those who have been moved to collect the works.
