Pointillism Period – 1980’s

Pointillism – high keyed colour.  By the use of hard-edge, the subject becomes static, frozen in time.  At this stage of Realism, another element is added – Pointillism.   Movement by brushstrokes, give way to pulsating areas of highly charged coloured dots.  Near the end of this laborious period, dots are beginning to become larger, moving, and emotional.  Realism is forever changing its face. Pointillism, and hard edge remains somewhat – dots become emotionally charged shapes – high keyed colour stressed – landscape/ traditional subject matter dominates, though the figures pursued for 30 odd years’ presents itself at times.
